Moving to Bratislava – The castle

Bratislava castle looks majestic on the hill. I think one of the best views of the castle is from the car. It is one of the first and the greatest views upon entering the city. The castle can be reached via public transport but if you are in the center then you can take a long walk as well.  Many tourist agencies include the castle in their tours.

The castle was reconstructed recently. In fact some parts are still in reconstructions but the exterior is already completed. And in the interior you can choose to see the museum or some free temporary expositions. The main staircase is made of marble and is beautiful. If you want to admire the view from one of the towers then you can take the cute wooden staircase that starts from the 3rd floor.

Around the castle there is also a garden where you can take a short stroll. In the perimeter of the garden there is a restaurant with a tiny terrace.

The view from the castle’s garden is pretty nice too.

Moving to Bratislava- Danube River bank

Danube is passing through the town. And on both sides of the river you can find something to keep you busy. Close to downtown there is a shopping mall called Eurovea . Right there on the river bank. On the ground floor of the mall there is a few restaurants with a view towards the river.

The place is very popular among the locals because of the location, the view, the restaurants and the shopping center. Without mentioning that close by there is a new building housing opera and  theater.

On the other side of the river there are other restaurants and even a beach.

Very close to Eurovea you can buy tickets for a boat trip to Devin castle or even to Vienna.  If taking the boat to Vienna you can easily plan a full day trip. You can leave in the morning and return in the afternoon.
